Beach cleaning, of high importance in tourist areas, poses a challenge with potentially large volumes of litter being deposited, as well as debris being washed up by the sea. Drawing on our extensive waste management experience, our beach cleaning teams will provide a high quality service.
In smaller areas with little debris and litter washing up on the beach, cleaning will be mainly carried out manually, where seaweeds and other fractions can be separated. Seaweed can be added to the green waste stream for composting, whereas litter can be collected and sorted into its fractions and added to their respective material streams at the Transfer Station.
Cleaning of larger beaches involves a tractor and trailer combination, where the trailer has a tailor-made attachment that will rake the debris into a collection basket. When full, this basket will be emptied into a skip at the end of the beach.
